Publisher Responsibilities

The publisher of JAMSTE is responsible for ensuring transparency, academic integrity, and adherence to ethical standards at every stage of the publication process. The publisher's responsibilities include:

  • Transparency: The publisher must maintain transparency in all publication processes and ensure impartiality at every stage.

  • Accessibility: The journal ensures that all content is freely accessible and available to all readers without any paywalls or subscription barriers.

  • Copyright Protection: The publisher must protect the authors' intellectual property rights and ensure proper licensing is in place.

  • Publication Continuity: The publisher ensures the journal's continuity and financial sustainability through academic support, sponsorships, and donations.

  • Communication and Support: The publisher must provide necessary support to authors, reviewers, and readers regarding any journal-related queries or concerns.

Editor Responsibilities

The editor is responsible for maintaining the scientific quality and ethical standards of the content published in JAMSTE. The editor’s responsibilities include:

  • Impartiality and Objectivity: Decisions are based solely on scientific validity and ethical considerations, regardless of the author's institutional identity.

  • Adherence to Ethical Guidelines: The editor ensures all published content adheres to COPE guidelines, preventing plagiarism, data manipulation, and academic fraud.

  • Managing the Peer Review Process: Managing the double-blind review process to ensure reviewers are objective, fair, and maintain confidentiality.

  • Handling Complaints: Thoroughly investigating any ethical violations or complaints and implementing appropriate solutions.

  • Publication Process Oversight: Ensuring only manuscripts meeting high scientific quality standards in Science, Mathematics, and Technology are published.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers in JAMSTE are experts responsible for evaluating the scientific quality and validity of the submitted articles. Their responsibilities include:

  • Scientific Evaluation: Providing objective and thorough evaluations of the scientific content and methodology (specifically within STEM education fields).

  • Impartiality and Confidentiality: Maintaining strict confidentiality and using review information solely for the evaluation process.

  • Conflict of Interest: Recusing themselves from the process if any financial or personal conflict of interest exists.

  • Timely Feedback: Providing comprehensive feedback within the specified timeframe to the editorial board.

  • Ethical Evaluation: Identifying and reporting potential ethical issues, such as plagiarism or data falsification, to the editor immediately.

Author Responsibilities

Authors submitting to JAMSTE must fulfill specific ethical and academic responsibilities:

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Submitting only original work with proper citations. Plagiarism or data falsification is strictly prohibited.

  • Conflict of Interest: Disclosing any financial or personal conflicts of interest related to the research.

  • Authorship Criteria: Listing only individuals with substantial scientific contributions. Honorary or ghost authorship is considered an ethical violation.

  • Submission Guidelines: Submitting manuscripts that have not been previously published or submitted elsewhere for concurrent publication.

  • Transparency in Data and Sources: Clearly disclosing and, where possible, making research datasets and tools available for verification.

  • Revisions and Feedback: Constructively revising the manuscript based on feedback from editors and reviewers in a timely manner.
