Manuscript Evaluation Policy
JAMSTE Article Review Process
JAMSTE adopts a robust article review process to ensure the quality and integrity of research and scientific knowledge. JAMSTE aims to promote academic trust through transparency, impartiality, and adherence to international publishing standards. Every article published in JAMSTE undergoes a comprehensive review process, which is carried out with thoroughness, transparency, and professionalism.
Article Submission and Preliminary Review
Articles are submitted to the JAMSTE online submission system. During submission, authors upload their manuscript and any required documents. The submitted article is first reviewed by the editor:
-
Content Relevance: The editor evaluates whether the article aligns with JAMSTE’s scope (Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education). The article is assessed to ensure it fits the journal’s academic goals and themes.
-
Writing and Language Check: JAMSTE requires articles to adhere to academic writing standards (such as APA). The manuscript is reviewed for grammar, spelling, and academic style.
-
Ethical Review: JAMSTE ensures that the submitted articles are ethically sound. The COPE guidelines and plagiarism checks are carefully evaluated.
If the article passes this preliminary review, it proceeds to the peer review stage.
Double-Blind Peer Review Process
JAMSTE follows a double-blind peer review model, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other. This ensures impartial and objective evaluations.
-
Reviewer Selection: The article is sent to two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field of Science, Mathematics, or Technology Education.
-
Reviewer Feedback: Reviewers provide a detailed report on scientific quality, methodology, and innovative contributions.
-
Evaluation Criteria: Reviewers assess the scientific contribution, methodological soundness, and the quality of data presentation.
-
Review Outcome: Recommendations are provided for acceptance, revision, or rejection. Authors make revisions based on feedback, which are then re-evaluated.
Post-Review and Decision-Making Process
After the reviewers’ evaluations, the editors make a final decision:
-
Acceptance: The article is accepted for publication.
-
Revision Required: The author is given a period to make corrections. The revised manuscript is re-submitted for further review.
-
Rejection: If the article fails to meet the scientific or methodological standards, it is rejected with detailed feedback.
Rights and Responsibilities
-
Authors: Authors retain the copyright but agree to JAMSTE’s open access policy. They must respond to comments constructively and maintain ethical standards.
-
Reviewers: Reviewers must provide objective feedback, disclose conflicts of interest, and maintain impartiality. JAMSTE ensures reviewer anonymity to protect the integrity of the process.
Ethics and Transparency
JAMSTE follows strict ethical guidelines (COPE and ICMJE):
-
Copyright and Open Access: Articles are published under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.
-
Plagiarism Detection: JAMSTE performs plagiarism checks on every article using professional software to prevent unethical publishing.
Exceptions and Legal Procedures
If ethical violations or copyright infringements are detected, the content will be retracted, and JAMSTE reserves the right to initiate legal procedures. Authors are prohibited from modifying published articles or using them for commercial purposes.
Process Evaluation and Feedback
JAMSTE continuously evaluates the effectiveness of its review process. Feedback from authors and reviewers is used to improve the quality and efficiency of the journal's operations.
