JAMSTE is committed to ethical publishing principles and academic integrity. Our journal adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and requires compliance with the following ethical standards.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must submit only original research and properly cite all sources. Plagiarism, data fabrication, and academic misconduct are strictly prohibited.

  • Conflict of Interest Statement: Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest related to their research.

  • Multiple or Simultaneous Submissions: The same work cannot be submitted to another journal for review simultaneously.

  • Authorship Criteria: Only those who have made a scientific contribution to the research should be listed as authors. Honorary authorship or ghost authorship is considered an ethical violation.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Double-Blind Peer Review: JAMSTE follows a double-blind peer review system, ensuring that reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other.

  • Objectivity and Confidentiality: Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, avoiding personal biases. They must not share any details of the review process with third parties.

  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must decline to evaluate any manuscript where they have a conflict of interest.

Responsibilities of Editors

  • Independent and Impartial Decision-Making: Editors make decisions based on scientific merit, without discrimination based on institutional affiliation.

  • Handling Ethical Violations: Editors are responsible for investigating and addressing ethical concerns.

  • Managing the Peer Review Process: Editors must ensure that peer review is conducted fairly and transparently.

Publication Ethics Violations and Procedures

JAMSTE takes violations such as plagiarism, data fabrication, honorary authorship, and conflicts of interest very seriously. If an ethical violation is identified, the following procedures are followed:

  1. Preliminary Assessment: The editorial board conducts an initial review of the allegation.

  2. Notification of Involved Parties: The author(s) in question are asked to provide an explanation.

  3. In Cases of Plagiarism or Data Manipulation:

    • If the manuscript is unpublished, the review process is terminated.

    • If the article has already been published, it is retracted, and this is publicly announced on the journal's website.

    • If necessary, the author’s affiliated institution is informed.

  4. Violations by Reviewers or Editors: Any ethical misconduct by a reviewer or editor results in permanent exclusion from the journal's processes.

  5. Appeal and Correction Process:

    • Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions. Appeals are reviewed by an independent ethics committee.

    • If the violation is minor and unintentional, a correction may be allowed instead of retraction.
